CPD Safeguarding and Learner Welfare Policy
Our commitment to respectful, safe and responsible learning environments for adult educators undertaking professional development.
Safe, Respectful and Responsible Learning
Dr Layla Institute for Educational Excellence is committed to promoting respectful online learning and responding appropriately to concerns involving adult learners who may be at risk of abuse, harassment or exploitation.
Policy Scope
This document applies to adult educators undertaking Dr Layla Institute for Educational Excellence professional development independently or through a school or employer.
Initial delivery is through self-paced online CPD e-modules and, where offered, live online sessions. Face-to-face activities may be introduced only after the applicable permissions, licences, venue safeguards and any necessary accreditation or course-delivery approvals have been confirmed. No course is described as CPD-accredited unless formal approval has been granted for that course and delivery format.
Scope

Commitment
Bullying, discriminatory conduct, intimidation, sexual harassment, threats and abuse are not tolerated in learning spaces, live sessions or communications.
Reporting Concerns
Learners and staff may report a welfare or safety concern to [email protected] .
Reports should describe what happened, when, who may be affected and any immediate safety issue. Sensitive details should be limited to what is necessary.
Response
The Founder/CEO or designated safeguarding contact will assess the concern, preserve confidentiality as far as possible, take proportionate protective steps and seek specialist or statutory advice when warranted.
Immediate danger should be reported to the emergency services in the location concerned.
Future Face-to-Face Delivery
Before any in-person programme, Dr Layla Institute for Educational Excellence will confirm local venue, health and safety, safeguarding, staffing and licensing requirements and implement the applicable measures.
The present policy does not authorise in-person delivery.
Record Keeping and Review
Concerns and actions will be documented securely with access restricted to those who need to know.
This policy will be reviewed if the learner population or delivery model changes.
