CPD Course Content Review Policy
Our approach to reviewing professional development courses to support educational relevance, accuracy, accessibility, consistent learning outcomes and responsible course publication.
Policy scope
This document applies to adult educators undertaking Dr Layla Institute for Educational Excellence professional development independently or through a school or employer.
Initial delivery is through self-paced online CPD e-modules and, where offered, live online sessions. Face-to-face activities may be introduced only after the applicable permissions, licences, venue safeguards and any necessary accreditation or course-delivery approvals have been confirmed. No course is described as CPD-accredited unless formal approval has been granted for that course and delivery format.
Purpose
Dr Layla Institute for Educational Excellence reviews learning materials to maintain educational relevance, accuracy, accessibility, consistent learning outcomes and trustworthy assessment.
Responsibilities
The course specialist checks subject accuracy and current practice. The Founder/CEO or designated quality reviewer checks course aims, structure, assessment, learner feedback and publication readiness. Specialist input may be commissioned when needed.
Review cycle
Each active course should undergo a documented review at least annually, with earlier review following significant curriculum, inspection framework, research, legal or accreditation changes, or material learner feedback.
What is reviewed
Course reviews should consider the following areas:
- Learning outcomes.
- Course content and references.
- Assessments and model answers.
- Accessibility.
- Technical links.
- Copyright permissions.
- Learner evaluations.
- Claims about accreditation or CPD hours.
Change control
Keep a simple course review log showing the version, reviewer, date, changes and approval. Material changes to accredited courses must be checked against the accreditor’s notification or reapproval requirements before release.
New delivery modes
Converting a self-paced course into live online or face-to-face delivery requires a separate suitability and permissions review, including any accreditation scope, venue and local licensing conditions.

Delivery arrangements
The institute initially offers professional development for adult educators through self-paced online CPD e-modules and, where available, live online learning. Any future in-person or school-based provision will be offered only after applicable permissions, licensing, safeguarding arrangements and any relevant accreditation or course-delivery approvals have been confirmed. No course will be described as CPD-accredited unless its accreditation has been formally confirmed.
